Apple & Peach Crostata

Life According to Jamie Crostata’s are a dessert that I really enjoy making. If you’ve never heard of a crostata before, it’s essentially an open-faced pie. You can make yours with any kind of filling you want. For the one I’m sharing today I used apples and peaches – perfect for the upcoming summer season and on/off spring days we’re having now. First, peel and cut your fruit. Then, I mix the fruit with brown sugar, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. The lemon juice is to help the fruit from browning. After giving the filling a good mix,  I brush egg wash onto pie crust dough and then carefully pour/spoon the fruit into the center of my pie crust dough. Next, fold the sides towards the center, slightly overlapping the sections. Brush some egg wash onto the top/sides of the crostata and sprinkle some sugar onto the dough. I also put a few pats… View original post 24 more words

The mourning of all the gluten-filled foods can be tough, but scavenging and finding the best gluten-free recipes is all apart of the life of a gluten-free person. Donuts are probably the thing people with gluten-free intolerances miss the most. After much time experimenting, the best (and easiest) recipe for gluten-free donuts is finally found. It was pretty simple for me and this is all you need: 1 ¼ cups pancake mix 1/4 egg 2 tablespoons sugar 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/3 cup water Supplies: Mixing bowl Spoon Deep frying pan Oil Stove Slotted spoon Paper towel Topping: 1/2 cup sugar 2 teaspoons cinnamon Paper lunch bag In a large bowl, mix together the pancake mix, water, egg and small amounts of sugar and cinnamon. Mix these ingredients together until they form a dough like substance and are well blended. ? Using the frying pan pour about 1 inch of oil. Turn the heat on high and allow the oil time to reach a higher temperature, nearly a boil. Once…

So today, this happened… permission to judge! I don’t think I need to actually write a post here. You can clearly see for yourself that today was a bad day for the diet. But it’s ok. As with life nowadays, I’m not going to beat myself up about it. Just move on, and continue to try… I mean, how is anyone supposed to turn away from this?? Ok, one friend did – yay her. But I couldn’t. Nu uh! Not a chance! Needless to say I couldn’t finish it, but I god damn well tried! It was a Galaxy flippin’ Cheesecake… go figure!

Strawberry Protein Cheesecake

Originally posted on a health & fitness blog:
?? So, a few months back I posted my low fat protein pumpkin cheesecake recipe. I posted some recommendations of other flavors at the bottom of that recipe, but I still had people complaining that they don’t like pumpkin and don’t know how to modify for the recommended substitutions. So I decided to help out!! This is the exact same recipe I used a few months back, just modified without pumpkin purée.? I made a delicious strawberry cheesecake and it turned out fantastic!! I feel like I’m cheating on my diet, but I’m not! The best part of this cheesecake, aside from it being low calorie, low fat, and delicious — is that it is so versatile. You can make whatever flavor you fancy by trying out different yogurt and protein powder flavors. Seriously, get creative!!! ?? Ingredients: 16 ounces fat free cream cheese (room temperature works best) 2 individual package Dannon Light n Fit Greek Yogurt (I chose to use Strawberry Cheesecake flavor, but you can…
