Crostata’s are a dessert that I really enjoy making. If you’ve never heard of a crostata before, it’s essentially an open-faced pie. You can make yours with any kind of filling you want. For the one I’m sharing today I used apples and peaches – perfect for the upcoming summer season and on/off spring days we’re having now. First, peel and cut your fruit. Then, I mix the fruit with brown sugar, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. The lemon juice is to help the fruit from browning. So today, this happened… permission to judge! I don’t think I need to actually write a post here. You can clearly see for yourself that today was a bad day for the diet. But it’s ok. As with life nowadays, I’m not going to beat myself up about it. Just move on, and continue to try… I mean, how is anyone supposed to turn away from this?? Ok, one friend did – yay her. But I couldn’t. Nu uh! Not a chance! Needless to say I couldn’t finish it, but I god damn well tried! It was a Galaxy flippin’ Cheesecake… go figure!
