Some Grotesque Teenage Beast of a Boy – 6th & 7th August 1999

Friday 6thRhian, Abby and I went swimming today. The main reason behind it was not to swim but to see Ben McFarlane. We did but only briefly. He wasn’t actually doing his pool attending like we’d hoped but he was in the shop part. I saw Rhian’s friend Laura Morgan’s brother, Duncan, today. The rest of his family are in Florida but he’s stayed here with his auntie who’s having a barbeque tomorrow to which we’re invited. Duncan was working in his parent’s café today and Rhian was ordered by Auntie S to introduce us to him, seeing as he’ll be at this barbeque as well, but she didn’t. Instead, Rhian got food and I got a good look at Duncan. I’ve never seen him before but Abby saw him at Christmas and Rhian sees him all the time and they both told me he was minging. So, I went in there expecting him to be some grotesque teenage beast of a boy but in fact I was…

Ralph gave me his last Rolo – 2nd June 1998

Tuesday 2ndRalph still likes me anyway. You know off the advert when it says, “Do you love someone enough to give them your last Rolo?” Well, Ralph gave me his last Rolo after school. He came up to me and said, “There’s my last Rolo, just for you.” I thought that was really sweet and I couldn’t stop smiling for ages. People must have thought I was a right nutter, grinning away to myself like that! I saved the packet. Sad, I know. → BYE!

Worth the hype? | MAC Whirl

Since the release of the new MAC matte range in August, Whirl has been one of the most talked about lipsticks in the blogging community. It was inevitable eventually I would end up purchasing this, especially after seeing so many rave reviews and the fact I’m totally addicted to MAC lipsticks. Whirl is like the darker, bolder big sister of Velvet Teddy. MAC describe this is a dirty rose, on my skin tone it pulls a lot more brown nude though. As with VT, I think Whirl would suit a wide range of skin tones. On a pale complexion like mine it is quite a bold shade but I still think it’s a very versatile colour. I think Whirl is a great shade for the colder months of the year, I’m not I will get as much from this shade when Spring/Summer comes around. Whirl is a matte finish, it is one of the more drying MAC lipsticks I’ve tried but it isn’t overly uncomfortable on the lips. It does tug…

He was nothing compared to Ralph! – 14th April 1998

Tuesday 14thWe went ice skating today. There were loads if girls and Freddie. There was me, Emma, Rach, Georgia, Lena, Olivia, Rach’s sister and her mate and then Freddie. It was quite good actually and there was this lad in a green coat (who looked a bit like Ewan Swann) who kept “accidentally” falling into me. They all thought he fancied me. Maybe he did but he didn’t stand much of a chance coz he was nothing compared to Ralph! It’s snowing really heavily and it’s gone quite deep now. I really want a snowball fight with my mates tomorrow but I don’t think that there’s much chance of that happening coz Mum’s making me go shopping for new school stuff tomorrow and Abby and I have got a dentist appointment too. What a fun day I’m gonna have – NOT! I’m really worried that I’m going to run out of time to do my homework as well. I’ve only got two pieces but they’re really long and…

Things that make me happy Part 3 | Disney

I’ve been really struggling for ideas for lifestyle posts recently, but whilst watching some Disney World vlogs I had a sudden realisation I hadn’t posted about Disney at all really on my blog yet! I’m sure this is the same for most of you, but for me Disney really just symbolises my childhood and family memories in a nutshell. My brother and I were very lucky as my parents always took us to the cinema to watch the Disney films. They also took us on a few family holidays to Disney World in Florida, and Disneyland Paris – of which I have very fond memories. My brother and me, in Disney World back in good old days! In general Disney is one of those things that when I’m feeling sad or fed up, watching a Disney movie will always cheer me up. There’s nothing better than snuggling up to watch a Disney film in my onesie with a hot chocolate. I love the Disney classics but I’ve also learned to love…

Ralph asked me out today – 15th February 1998

Sunday 15thWe got up at about 7:00am and got ready in our ski gear and went for brekkie at 8:00am. We had bread rolls and jam and tea and coffee and stuff. Skiing lessons started at 9:30 so we all made our way to the bottom of the nursery slope. They split us into 2 groups and I got put with my mates. Then we had to do snow ploughs down and they split us again. I was in a group with a woman instructor called Manuella and Emma, Cat, Georgia etc. and Ralph and Ferny. As we were going down, Ferny kept falling and eventually he went to the instructor to tell her his knee had swollen up. He just sat out all day. I felt really sorry for him. We went back to the hotel for lunch then had another 2 hours afterwards. It was dead good between the end of the afternoon session and tea. We had about 3 hours and were bored so when Jez…
