Leaving Goggles

I’m leaving my job. That’s right folks; after over a year and a half of working full time in my kooky little call center, I am leaving to travel and follow my dreams of being paid to write. It’s exciting, it’s terrifying and there is a very real chance I will end up extremely poor and never be able to move out of my parents flat. It’s even more of a daunting prospect because this is the only thing I have done since graduating. I literally left university on the last day of June two years ago and started working here on the first day of July. I didn’t take a break or a summer off, this is literally all I know of the adult world. I always planned to leave; in fact I had no idea I would be here this long. The plan was to save enough money to go traveling before settling down into ‘adult’ life. Initially I naively thought that would take about six months. I kept postponing leaving partly because I didn’t have enough money to …

Two days until my birthday ! February 11th and I will be 17…. ok 20…. Fine fine, stop pulling my leg. I will be 24. Scary to think of honestly. Like everyone else I was offered between Fresh items or Marc Jacobs, and since I love Marc Jacobs lipstick I picked that one! I was lucky though, ABH lipsticks have been added to Sephora Canada (FINALLY I GET TO TRY THEM YESSS) and they had a great offer of Nars lipstick and perfume samples I took advantage of. Before I give it all away here are the items I decided to pick up. **All Swatches are at the bottom of the post** Vita Liberata Tanning Mitt I grabbed this because I won a self tanner a while back but was terrified of using it without a mit. I have only used spray ones so I am excited I can finally try it out, and tell you all how it is! Sephora’s Birthday Choice- Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc…

Drugstore Brands I want to try more from!

Originally posted on LucieLeannexo:
Since starting my blog I have got much better at venturing into new brands, but I feel as though there are still many brands I want to explore more. I’ve seen a few of these posts recently so I thought I would give you my own spin on it, starting with the drugstore brands I want to try more from. Revlon -?Revlon is a brand I have always been aware of but for some reason I have barely tried any of their products, except from this gorgeous pink lipstick I received in a Glossybox. They have just released a whole range of new mascaras which I would love to try, and I would also like to try their Color Stay foundation. NYX -?When Valentina & I did our beauty swap, she kindly sent me some Nyx products. I have fallen in love with the butter gloss in Tiramisu, and I literally want to try every shade. Their HD concealer has also caught my attention and also their primers. H&M Beauty -?I…

Becca Glow on the Go Highlighter Review + Demo!

Shining bright like a diamond was never really an issue for me. I mean, that was all thanks to my oily skin. Now that I have got my oils under control (for the most part), I don’t shine very often. What I’m looking to achieve now is a beautiful, natural glow. Something similar to this: Image taken from google.com Okay, maybe something a little less drastic than that. If you saw my Kat Von D Shade and Light palette post, then you know I’m a beginner when it comes to contouring. Well, same goes for highlighting/strobing, it’s really foreign to me and so I’m a little cautious when it comes to applying highlighter (trying to avoid looking like the above picture). So one fateful day in December, I went to Sephora to initially shop for presents for my sister. I was actually doing pretty well with staying on track and only shopping for her, but then when I walked in line to checkout, those darn deluxe sample items got me.…

It’s kind of a brown-plum with a hint of green glitter, had me mesmerzied! For being a 100% mineral all natural shadow is has an extremely soft, creamy texture blends out beautifully! It is also very versatile, you can use it by itself, over other shadows, or as the picture above shows the different pay offs while wet, primed, and diffrent bases(ipsy’s picture). I’m not sure of the staying power yet but I will keep you all…

How to last through a party with flawless makeup

Originally posted on Posh & Spicy:
Hey Ladies So since many of you are interested in more beauty related topics i have chosen to write about how to last through those party nights, or a long day at work without having those mirror freak out wondering where your?lipstick?disappeard to. Your face does not have to show how exhausting or stressed you are and by?creating a long-lasting look you will?spend more time in the moment and less time in the mirror :)? Prime and blott For me the worst beauty freakout is when i see my T-Zone getting all oily and my foundation half gone. So to avoid that wrong kind of shine it is important to prime your face so that the foundation really gets on your skin and stays there. I use smooth affair for oily skin primer from Jane iredale. Before you head out quickly blott your face with some powder or blotting papers. Try pure pressed base mineral foundation Use smudge proof/ water proof Nothing screams “I’m tired” like smeared eyeliner. To…

December Glossybox: The Rose Gold Edit

To say that my December Glossybox arrived just as I was leaving for my Botox appointment makes my life sound soooo much more glamorous than it is. Nonetheless, it’s true. I was off to my 3 monthly Botox treatment for Chronic Migraine and not looking forward to it at all, as usual; the 30+ injections into scalp/neck/forehead/temples are really quite painful for me at the moment. So it was nice to have a treat waiting for me when I got home. ???? The box itself is very pretty and festive this month, without a snowman or Santa in sight. I’m always a fan of the special boxes but I particularly like this one; sooooo pretty & perfect for the glowy theme this month.? ?? ? This month’s box is the Rose Gold Edit produced in collaboration with blogger Really Ree.There are six products rather than the usual five with a combined value of over £50; Glossybox is always good value for money.? ??
