An Ode to Orgasms

Beyond A Physical Relationship

Originally posted on Rosie Culture:
Terms such as “hooking up” and “friends with benefits” are pretty common these days. The hookup culture we live in means less relationships because our time is focused elsewhere. Whether we are career driven, education focused, dream chasing, or just plain selfish. There is a time in our life where relationships just aren’t possible so we avoid the emotional and lean towards the physical. But that time in your life where a relationship isn’t possible doesn’t last forever. There eventually is a time where you are emotionally and physically available. Some start to look for relationships at that time and some choose to veer from them still. There is a time in our lives where we are all ready to settle down, but instead of doing so some choose to stay in the “hooking up” or “friends with benefits” stage. Honestly, the physical thing just gets tiring. As if dating wasn’t hard enough, now you’re not sure if someone just wants to have fun or wants something serious. It’s like you…

What Makes a Woman Confident?

Originally posted on Just another millennial living with her parents:
I feel as though this is a popular topic to discuss. The topic of confidence. I don’t speak to men, when it comes to matters of confidence – Ladies, I’m telling you – They have enough. Men, men, are so flipping confident these days. I tell you, I’ve never met a single male, anywhere, that hasn’t told me what to do. They tell me what I should be doing with my time. Of course, I shouldn’t be wasting so much time, worrying about my student loans – But I do. It’s all I can think about. I go hard, get what’s mine, take what’s mine. I work hard these days, and I must tell you, confess to you, ladies – My confidence is directly related to my money. These days, I feel a lot of pep in my step. I’ve bolstered up my student loan payments, and I feel good. Actually, I feel great. I’ve traded in my butter knife for a tomahawk, and I’m…

Pornography Is a Social Justice Issue

Originally posted on Millennial:
Millennial Catholic Megan McCabe, who has written on hookup culture and rape culture at Millennial, has a new article at America. She writes: This process of desensitization and subsequent search for a new thrill is one way that male viewers find themselves aroused by acts of violence and degradation that they previously would have found horrifying. Through “Create in Me a Clean Heart,” the U.S.C.C.B. attempts to address these social concerns. But the statement mentions them only briefly and without much explanation. Despite addressing issues of violence, the overall framing of the document remains focused on lust and chastity. To take pornography seriously as a structure of sin would require moving violence to the fore, allowing it to frame how we ought to understand the ethical challenges posed by pornography. Through further exploration of the negative social effects of pornography, it becomes clear that the primary concern ought not be lustfulness. Rather, use of pornography entails complicity in a social structure that makes violence against women seem normal, even erotic. It…

Purchased: Kindle – $.99 My Rating: 5 of 5 Stars Spoilers! What’s It All About: “Everything was fine until that innocent little rich girl walked into my garage. Since the second I laid my eyes on her, all I’ve wanted to do is get my dirty hands on her pure body.  There’s one minor obstacle standing in my way, but I’ve got a plan. All I’ve got to do is claim her, and she’ll be mine forever.  Warning: This book is over-the-top, insta-love. There’s nothing but steamy scenes, babies trying to be made, and an obsessed bearded alpha hero claiming a virgin who will be his forever. If you want it hot and dirty, this is it!  *whispers* There’s a sweet smutty surprise at the end!” Description taken from Amazon. The Best Parts: Who wants smut?! Like pure honest to god dirty sexy smut. This novel isn’t for the faint of heart as it is literally the description. The hot sex scenes dominate this novel, but even then…

I Swiped Right When I Should Have Just Left | A

I am a 24 year old girl, who is struggling in the scary world of dating. I like man-buns, bearded beauties, vodka, and a good laugh. The most important thing you should know about me is that I don’t hold back on any details in my life. I am more blunt than I should be but I think that makes me fun, don’t you think? 😉

My Thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner

Originally posted on modernteenfashion:
Honestly my thoughts about the whole Caitlyn Jenner situation is that people are making a bigger deal out of it than necessary. It was her decision to change genders because she knew that it’s what would make her happy and feel confident, so people shouldn’t judge that decision. I personally think that people should just leave her alone to live her life as a beautiful, strong woman and stop making it such a huge deal. It was just a choice she made in her life so that she could be who she wanted to be and I think that we should just respect it without overthinking it too much. I mean, so what if she changed genders and became a woman? Has it really hurt our society? No, not at all. If anything, it should be a symbol of acceptance so that we can all accept people for who they are, even if they do things that are a little out of the ordinary. I love being a girl, it’s who…

Male to Female, Gay to Straight: Losing My Identity

Originally posted on corybanticcory:
Transitioning has made my life really complicated… Especially lately. I’ve finally hit the point in my transition where people are starting to question what my gender is. I thought I would be excited, and I am, but I’m also so alone. Dating is a nightmare. I don’t really appeal to either sex right now. Everyone is sort of confused about how to look at me. Some people see a woman. Some people see a man. Some people see the potential to fall in love and others… they see friendship. I’ve been generally really happy since moving to San Francisco. I love it here. I live close to the beach, I have amazing roommates, and there’s so much to do. I know that I have a lot to be thankful for. I don’t ever want to leave. But this city isn’t the trans-utopia that I thought it was going to be. Most people don’t know how to date someone who is transgender. I’m transgender and I don’t even know how to date…
