Date Idea That Requires Little to No Money

Originally posted on sophie harris:
Hiya!! I’m back with another valentines day related post and this time I want to give you guys some ideas for dates that don’t require too much money. I’m not going to say zero money because that’s not always plausible and honestly, off of the top of my head, I can’t think of any. I’m a poor girl and I know a lot of people, especially students, will not have as much money to splash out extreme amounts on date for this somewhat special day. So I know how it feels and this is my list of 8 money free date ideas. 1. Seek out a food market and live off of the free samples. I do this regardless of dates to be honest hahaha! Restaurants are so bloody expensive sometimes so let’s do that. 2. A museum date. Maybe this is boring to some people, but for me at least who is a history student, it’s fantastic. Most museums have all day admissions so you can go after work…

The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick // Much Cuteness & Much Teenage Angst

3 stars – I liked it but maybe there where elements of the book I didn’t enjoy to much and subtracted from the awesomeness. I may have also had a bit of a meh reaction to it. Surprises abound and sparks ignite in the highly anticipated, utterly romantic companion to My Life Next Door Tim Mason was The Boy Most Likely To: – find the liquor cabinet blindfolded – need a liver transplant – drive his car into a house Alice Garrett was The Girl Most Likely To: – well, not date her little brother’s baggage-burdened best friend, for starters. For Tim, it wouldn’t be smart to fall for Alice. For Alice, nothing could be scarier than falling for Tim. But Tim has never been known for making the smart choice, and Alice is starting to wonder if the “smart” choice is always the right one. When these two crash into each other, they crash hard. Then the unexpected consequences of Tim’s wild days come back to shock him. He finds…

My Type of Romance

As it was Valentines Day recently I have decided to write about relationships and my own experience with the crazy roller coaster world of love. This is a romantic story straight out of (certain) types of movies, TV shows and books, but trust me when I say it is not a fairy tale. When I was 18, I became involved with a man. This man seemed like he was straight out of a story. He was eight years my senior, which made him just the right age in my mind, and he reminded me of many of the characters I had learned to love over the years. But this was no fairy tale story. Not a romcom either. No. This man reflected the kind of relationships I was fascinated with at the time. When I was younger, I wasn’t interested in ‘normal’ on screen romances and soppy rom coms. I didn’t want a knight in shining armor, un-complicated, sweet, and ‘normal’ guy.  When I was younger, I was obsessed with phantom of the Opera. With the angst page of …

Film Review – Knight of Cups (2015)

Christian Bale and Natalie Portman in Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups Knight of Cups Directed by Terrence Malick Starring Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman Review by Jordan The emotional isolation of a contemplative man, whose fleeting encounters with beautiful strangers furthers his own self-loathing and solidifies his position as one unable to reconnect to a life he no longer has any control over, is a lonely, disquieting place to be. Why are these women drawn to him? They say he has love to give, but admit that while he means his promises they don’t come from the heart, and ultimately these connections are as fleeting as any semblance of hope afforded to the vain wanderers that occupy Terrence Malick’s version of LA. For his seventh feature film, released in the most prolific period of his career, the director once known for his mesmerising ability to marry a purposeful narrative with related pondering on the essence of life on an ever-changing Earth has opted to forgo…
