It is a weakness” Review by Eddie on 27/07/2016 For a series that was rebooted in such promising fashion with the J.J Abrams directed 2009 film, the freshly polished Star Trek franchise is slowly dying a sad death on the back of Abram’s lacking 2013 sequel Into Darkness and thanks to Justin Lin’s newest addition simply titled Beyond, this wannabe Star Wars competitor needs a mighty warp speed boost with the already announced 4th film to stay relevant and appealing to audiences who won’t likely be…

Hey World, You’ve Been Gilmored: Tips for Binge-Watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix

Originally posted on Cookies + Sangria:
*Starting today, July 1st, the rest of the world will be able to experience what us Americans have been able to enjoy for the past two years – the entirety of Gilmore Girls on Netflix Instant. Obviously this is a smart move for Netflix ahead of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life premiering later this year, but now I feel like the show’s going to have an even larger global fan base than ever before. So if you happen to be watching the show for the first time this weekend, international readers, here’s a handy guide to making it through the entire series. I made this in 2014 when GG first hit Netflix in America, so I’ve made a few updates throughout. Copperboom!* It’s happening you guys. IT’S ALL HAPPENING. Sorry I yelled at you. Let’s make up. I’m just super excited for the recent news coming out of Netflix HQ: All seven seasons of Gilmore Girls are coming to Netflix Instant. That’s right – 153 episodes, about 6,732…

6 Canonically Bisexual Characters Currently Gracing Your Television Screen

It’s Pride month, and for me, that usually means I celebrate my identity with lots of rainbow, glitter, and mooning over Lena Headey in Imagine Me & You. Okay, maybe not the glitter, because it’s messy, but definitely rainbows and Lena Headey. In fact, it was movies like that one and Kissing Jessica Stein that helped me figure some things out. Of course, it took me a lot longer than that to figure out I was the B in LGBT. I will not speak for anyone else, but this is why representation is important to me: being able to see someone like me onscreen really pushed me toward learning about and accepting my sexuality. So in support of pride, representation, and just some delish eye candy, here are a few characters known to enjoy the company of both men and women. Eretria, The Shannara Chronicles Shannara on MTV Eretria (Ivana Baquero) is a charming, rogue that seems to be destined to end up in the pages of a romance novel–either as feisty woman…

The Mori-Theory Conspiracy: A Sherlock Podcast

Originally posted on The Collective:
Over the past few days, the Collected Mutineer and I have become conspiracy theorists. If you follow me on Snapchat, you already knew that. We’ve been rewatching all the series of Sherlock, which, sadly, only took a day and a half with frequent breaks for food and YouTubing. As we watched we mapped out theories that we have that involve everyone’s favourite villain, Moriarty, and decided to do a wee podcast to discuss them with you. Do not listen if you are not caught up with the show as there are spoilers EVERYWHERE. Nothing is safe.  If you’re too lazy to click “play” on the audio file, here is the reader’s digest version. 1. Moriarty has a twin. What better way to bring back a character than to have him never be dead at all? This is a favourite trope of soap operas, and it was even featured pretty prominently in The Prestige a few years ago. Don’t think Moriarty can be a twin? Read this theory on his right-handed v. left-handedness and then watch…
