Throwback Thursdays! “Everlong” by Foo Fighters

This is one of the few songs by a band that I feel in general I can say both die-hard and casual fans agree is their best song. It’s one of Foo Fighters best videos, it’s a great rock song and it has a pretty great acoustic version as well. I thought I was gonna say more about this but it turns out that I am not. Throwback Thursdays! “Stay” by Lisa Loeb

The original hipster! Lisa Loeb was dressing like a woman out of the 50s which caught on in the 90s and now is the uniform for hipsters in whatever we call this decade. Stay was Lisa Loeb’s breakout hit (some say her only) and was featured on the Reality Bites soundtrack. Fun Facts about the song/video: Lisa Loeb was the first artist in the USA to have a #1 hit and not be signed to a recording contract. She had recorded the song independently and her neighbor Ethan Hawke gave a copy of “stay” to Ben Stiller who put it in the Reality Bites movie. The song blew up and Loeb made history. Ethan Hawke directed the music video in his own apartment (which by the way is HUGE, what is rent on at place like that?!) The video was shot in one continuous take with no edits. Well those are all the facts I remember from watching Pop Up Video back in 2002. Enjoy the video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9HGwRbMiVY
