Hold Your Own Pain

I’ve got a few drawings on the go at the moment. This work-in-progress is about holding your own pain. We are only responsible for dealing with our own pain. We can be there for others but we cannot deal with their pain for them. That’s not our job. That’s theirs. We can want to take their pain away from them and we can feel pain with them, but their pain belongs to them. So let go of everyone else’s box of pain thinking that we have to fix everything. Take responsibility for our own pain and feel empathy for everyone else.

How to Know You’re Getting Old in 8 Ways

Originally posted on How To Get Things Done in 10 Ways:
Obviously, I know, that at age 25 I am not old. I have a lot of life left and to fret about being old this early in the game is stupid. But sometimes I just look at things and think, “Oh God, am I getting old? I would never do that.” I can just feel the aging in moments like that.?Oh maybe that’s what they call maturing?! Maybe I am finally maturing! Wow, now I feel so fancy after that realization. Okay, so for the purpose of this post we’re going to stick with the idea that I’m getting old… 1. Talking in the movie theater The boyfriend and I went to see a movie a little bit ago, and the theater was pretty empty except for this group of teens and a few couples sprinkled throughout. Those kids had something to say at EVERY damn scene! I mean, when I was a kid, yeah, I liked to talk to my friends during the movie,…

Nice Guys Don’t Always Finish Last

Originally posted on Rosie Culture:
“Nice guys finish last.” Why do I always hear that? There is some sort of stereotype in the world that says girls like to be treated like dirt, so they intentionally find the guys that are going to hurt them and ignore all of those wonderful ‘nice guys’ who are pining for them. First of all: no one in the world wants to be treated poorly. Not girls, not guys – at least, not on purpose. A girl won’t ignore you, not date you, or friendzone you just because you’re nice.  There are other factors involved such as: she doesn’t think you’re attractive, you act too much like a friend, you don’t have any sort of challenge or spark to you.  This isn’t personal – we’re all attracted to different types of people and you’re just not that person’s type. Of course we want someone who is going to be nice to us.  But we don’t want someone who reminds us of our brother. Protective is great, but family-like is not.…

Day 39: Upper Back Pain and Continual Headache

Originally posted on Mission Trimpossible:
For the second night in a row, I passed out on my futon. When I woke up, my neck was killing me. 12 hours later, it’s still bothering me. In fact, it’s so sore that I’d willingly drop $70-$100 for a professional massage. I tried a hot shower, I tried yoga, I even tried neck massages. They helped a little, but my entire neck is still full of knots. I tried a variation of yoga videos today. I was having a hard time getting into them. This Yoga for Neck Relief was interesting, but I couldn’t relax. It was a “silent” yoga theme, so i had to constantly stop and look at the video to find out what I was doing next. It was a bit of a disappointment. I started the yoga for headaches video, but my allergies were having none of it. Finally I settled on this yoga for upper back video. It did help somewhat, but didn’t focus exclusively on my neck. I probably should have just…

The ‘what if’s’ of an idiot

We weed out the humanity in us and leave free-floated spirits to wander I know all this, I know everything but nothing I know I’m not sensible, I’m an idiot But; What if you are never wrong as opposed to the wrong you did? What if there were 400 days in a year and people are actually short-lived by their fellow people? What if colours only made us blind and black and white was our only identification? What if reality was abstracts and vice versa? What if your only hope is in yesterday? What if animals ruled us by making us rule them? What if being left-handed was bliss, disabled divine, blinded grace and not known validated? What if being supernatural was the only natural? What if the earth is a curse and the people in it too? What if you…
