On the heel of yesterday’s blog post, I am so excited to share this exciting news with you today! I am thrilled announce the launch of the new Do It For The Process Instagram account!  HOORAY!!!!! The #DoItForTheProcess hashtag has taken on a life of it’s own and has become a great place for artists and makers to showcase their work, and now, we’re taking it to a whole new level! ? Last week, the Internet was up in arms (but when is it not) about a new app called Peeple, which lets you rate and review other people. It’s been called “Yelp for Humans”, which is how it’s being marketed around the web, hence the outrage among social media users who haven’t done any further research. https://twitter.com/chrissyteigen/status/649566110153510912?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw I’m definitely not defending this app, but I wanted to figure out why the founders of it wanted to make it in the first place. These two best friends, one in Canada, one in the U.S., were dedicated to “changing the way people can learn about each other online.” Their solution was Peeple, an app that “allows you to rate and comment about the people you interact with in your daily lives on the following three categories: personal, professional, and dating.” Ok, seems easy enough. Many professionals are constantly starting and attempting to expand their businesses into larger markets. There is a very big barrier that can prevent this. No, not just money. Language. The ability to translate the marketing for your product can make or break your ability to expand. Enter Colatris. This app was designed by founders Josh Deffibaugh, Albert Eloyan, and A.J. Cihla. On the product website Colatris is described as: A fully automated, in-context translation solution for software. The tool enables global market reach while saving you hours every month. Grocery Rebate Apps

Due to my strong desire to master budgeting, I spent last weekend downloading grocery coupon apps (RetailMeNot, Saving Star, etc.) and rebate apps. I found one rebate app that I love and one that’s a great sidekick. 1. The sidekick Every Wednesday, a new list of rebates is released. The rebate (typically anywhere from $0.25-1) applies to a product. It isn’t store specific. The reason it’s the sidekick? Most of the rebates tend to be brand specific (i.e. Pledge Floorcare Product). Living on a budget means I may not be able to buy the brand item. A $1.50 rebate on a $10 brand item isn’t better than a $5 generic item. On my first receipt (Fourth of July weekend…we bought a lot of stuff) I was able to make $1.75. 2. The superhero Though I’m not rolling in the rebate dough, the app offers a bit more than Checkout 51. The rebates are specific to certain stores, but many of them are found at multiple stores. DuoLingo

Starting this month, I am challenging myself to become fluent in Spanish by December. One app that I’ve found to be very helpful is DuoLingo. Before you begin, you take a test to give the app an idea for where you are at. You can also set a goal to practice for a certain amount of time daily, weekly, and so forth. The app will send a notification through your phone and email with a reminder to meet your goal. The learning activities include listening and translating, listening and typing what you hear, reading and translating, word identification, and more! It’s been great so far. Plus it’s free. If there were a section that allowed me to practice conversation skills, it would be perfect. Pizza, Netflix, and Happiness. Mei.
