A Loud Perfume

I had to write this research paper for class last year, and I just ran across it again today. I LOVED writing this paper! I thought is was so interesting and unique..so I thought I would share it with you guys. Whoever said you only learn in the classroom, WAS WRONG! Have you ever heard of synesthesia? Not many have. Synesthesia is a Greek word meaning “joined sensation”. According to Vicki Mabrey synesthesia is a “rare brain condition . . . in which some of the senses—usually quite distinct—involuntarily fuse together, creating almost literally a sixth sense. Music is not only heard, it’s seen and felt; words can have flavors and flavors can have color” (qtd. in Kohn 561). There are multiple causes for synesthesia. The major and most common cause of synesthesia is heredity.
