Trip Recap: Istanbul and Cairo

Originally posted on The 9 to 5 Wanderer:
?? I’ve got so much to say about my trip to Istanbul and Cairo, that I thought it would be best to start with a broad recap and then delve into some of the more detailed stuff I’ve been busting at the seams to share with you all. Literally dozens of blog post ideas on the docket. It’s going to be great, trust me. Consider this a bit of a teaser of what’s to come! Days in Istanbul:?4.5 (cumulatively) Days in Cairo: 5 Hours in the air: about 25 Hours spend in-transit: who?knows, a heck of a lot! Facial products used in-flight: 5 (all completely necessary, I promise you) Airplane meals consumed: 7 (and I slept through one, grrrr). Turkish Airways’?food was surprisingly quite good, very high on the edible scale as far as airplane foods go. Thumbs up to Turkish Airways in general, I was very pleased with their service. Highs:? I mean, it’s hard to think of what wasn’t a high, I had such an amazing time,…

The One Thing is an awe inspiring book that makes takes you through the whole emotional spectrum, and has crazy awesome characters. If you haven’t read this, which I know a lot of you haven’t, YOU NEED TO! I started around 9ish at night and read through to ten to 4 in the morning because I JUST COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! Maggie lost her site six months ago due to bacterial meningitis, along with her bright soccer future, her close relationship with her mother, and all of her friends. One day while at her probation officers office (a small prank) Maggie slips, knocks her head and then suddenly a miracle occurs, she can see, but only Ben. This start’s Maggie becoming best friends with a 10 year old, crushing on his older brother (who happens to be the lead singer for Maggie’s favourite band) and her road to emotional and mental recovery Within the…

Pumpkins, bats, witches, cats… how are you celebrating Halloween this year? | Photo by Aventure Parc. In four days’ time, you will have the perfect reason to break out the candy bars, restock the chocolates and sweets and all manners of tasty treats in your kitchen. Not because it’s football season (although the Barclay’s Premier League 2015-2016 has already began), but because in four days’ time, on October 31st, it will be Halloween. Children will come knockin’ on your front doors, trickin’ and treatin’. Say, will children end up with diabetes and toothaches as they grow older, after having devoured all the candies they received on Halloween? I used to ask myself how did Halloween come into existence. I thought it was a publicity stunt by Hollywood or Disneyland. Making up stories to scare the kids into behaving themselves, that sort of thing. Parents are pretty good at doing that. Especially when they want you to eat your greens or brush your teeth before bedtime or adhere to…

Climb To The Top And Do NOT Look Back Down

For a while I have talked about being successful. To clarify, I don’t find myself as successful yet! ..and most people don’t!?But what is “success”? According to Google, it’s the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. That means that success is extremely subjective and only you can determine whether you are successful. Keep in mind that to achieve your goals you will?have to work very hard.?And, recently, I’ve come to the conclusion that hard work is important regardless of what you choose to do. To be the best you have to work hard.? Here’s a quote by Kevin Hart: “Everybody wants to be famous, but nobody wants to do the work. I live by that. You grind hard so you can play hard. At the end of the day, you put all the work in, and eventually it’ll pay off. It could be in a year, it could be in 30 years. Eventually, your hard work will pay off.” Read more quotes at?Brainyquote. So have the mentality that you…

Lake Tahoe, California

If you know me at all, you know that I love Lake Tahoe with a passion! It is hands down my favorite place to get away from everything. The air is fresh, the lake is blue as can be and the scenery is beautiful. It’s so peaceful. I used to go all the time when I was a little kid– the good times. There’s is no other place that gives such a sense of nostalgia. I’ve spent vacations there during both the winter and summer, with my family and with my boy friend’s, when I was a baby all the way up through my young adulthood and I can safely say it never gets old. Over this past summer, I was blessed with the opportunity to go twice to my beloved Tahoe. Here’s a neat, little guide to the things we did, ate and saw– and some of the things we didn’t have time for, but wish we did.  Tahoe is an outdoor enthusiasts dream! There are endless options…

I Can’t

I’m lying to myself and everyone around me. I’m not okay. I’m not good. I don’t think I do well under stress and my financial situation has me stressed. I feel so fucking alone, like who’s there for me to reach out to? No one. No one is there when I need them the most. I feel like Batman would be here in a heartbeat, but its barely been 3 weeks, I can’t burden him with my emotional crap. I have literally no one to turn to. How am I to survive like this? I can’t. Thats all I can think: “I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t.” What is it I can’t do? I don’t know but this financial shit is driving me up a wall and not doing my mental health any favors. I can’t. I feel so alone and stressed and I just can’t. I can’t do this.

This is my first Lip Monthly bag which arrived on the 20th. If you are not familiar with Lip Monthly it is a $12.95 USD Beauty bag with free international shipping. To check it out click here. My first impression of This beauty subscription is that they have good quality products but absolutely horrid customer service. Their site needs a lot of work but their shop is slowly improving and has good prices. Only thing I wish was different in this bag is the fact the two colours were so close. *Note- the prices are below based on their website shop, not the display card received in the bag* Lord Berry Crayon – $13 This is a full-sized Lord Berry Crayon in shiny Sensual (red). What I like about this, aside from the colour, is its pleasant smell and creamy texture. It was really easy to apply however it doesn’t last very long, I found myself having the reapply after drinking and eating. Mica Cosmetics Lip Pot…
