Roma! La Città Eterna!

HilaryStyle Rome is a city packed so full of amazing history and sights that even with 9 full days to visit we came nowhere near seeing everything on my list. We would just have to pick our “must-see” places and everything else would be a bonus. The Colosseum We loved this! Although you can arrange private tours and you probably should for a high season visit we took a chance and bought our tickets and booked our tour upon arrival. The tour guides do an amazing job. I can’t explain it, but there is something so moving about being in this place you’ve heard so much about and where so much history took place. It was a very sophisticated structure for its time and it is incredibly well-preserved. You can really imagine what it once was! The Forum The Forum was a disappointment to me. Maybe it had something to do with being there alone with… View original post 1,250 more words

The tomb of the unknown soldier

Where to even start with this incredible place? Like really, I don’t think I have ever seen a building as huge with as much detail and thought taken into every millimetre of the perimeter! This building just cannot be misses, while walking around Rome, every point with a view, this was to be seen. I honestly think my house would fit into this building 50 times over! Standing next to it, in all its greatness, was just something in itself. When I was in New York the building were big and tall and wide but this is a different type of building, this was there to be seen, this stood a purpose of holding the body of a soldier that once fought for Italy, although from what I read, no one knows who this unknown soldier actually is. He must have been pretty special to have this as his tomb! From every edge of the building it was clear that it was in a prime location with beautiful views…

European Travel part 2: Rome

Italy. The land of wine, carbs, and culture. Italy was our second country on the ‘HBK Euro Vacay’ and it definitely claimed a special place in our hearts. We went to 5 different parts of the country, and took an incredible amount of photos. How could you not? From the architecture to the landscape, every part of this culture is picture perfect. As I started this Italy recap, I realized that I had way too much to share to just do one post for Italy. So, for that reason, I’ve split it up into three parts. Today I’m sharing a recap of our time in Rome!  Rome is a city full of history, beauty, and tourists galore. Even though hearing italians speaking english on account of the american visitors lessens the magic, it didn’t take away from the awe of being in a city so rich in history. From the Colosseum, to the Vatican, to St. Peters Basillica, every inch of Rome is humbling and reminds you of how small you are in context of history. We had our…

Rome in Love is a story of a young actress, resembling Audrey Hepburn named Amelia, that takes on the role of Princess Ann in the remake of Roman Holiday. In Rome while shooting the film, Amelia meets a real princess, Sophie. Sophie is in Rome taking time off from her royal duties, and she seems to truly be reliving a “Roman Holiday.” Amelia is having a blast exploring her new self as an actress and visiting the diverse Italian venues with Sophie, but then her boyfriend of three years…
