Strawberry Protein Cheesecake

?? So, a few months back I posted my low fat protein pumpkin cheesecake recipe. I posted some recommendations of other flavors at the bottom of that recipe, but I still had people complaining that they don’t like pumpkin and don’t know how to modify for the recommended substitutions. So I decided to help out!! This is the exact same recipe I used a few months back, just modified without pumpkin purée.? I made a delicious strawberry cheesecake and it turned out fantastic!! I feel like I’m cheating on my diet, but I’m not! The best part of this cheesecake, aside from it being low calorie, low fat, and delicious — is that it is so versatile. You can make whatever flavor you fancy by trying out different yogurt and protein powder flavors. Seriously, get creative!!! ?? Ingredients: 16 ounces fat free cream cheese (room temperature works best) 2 individual package Dannon Light n Fit Greek Yogurt (I chose to use Strawberry Cheesecake flavor, but you can…

My Daily Bread // Family Chili Recipe.

It’s that time of year. Your Christmas tree is probably up, most of the Thanksgiving leftovers have been eaten through, and possibly, there’s a little bit of snow on the ground. For me, two of those things are true,?still no snow days for me yet! But even if none of those things are true, you cannot go wrong with chili. If I thought my last time in the kitchen was bad, then this time is in a category all it’s own. I have to admit, getting the hang of cooking is much harder than it looks! Getting all the right ingredients, preparing the food successfully, everything running smoothly, at the same/correct time, and then coming out deliciously? Much harder said then done. But, I learn something new every time. This time around I found out just how important it is to have simple recipes when you don’t cook often. One reason is, you will waste a ton of money on random ingredients that will end up going bad before you…

Tofurky hickory smoke flavour turkey style slices

Originally posted on Charm of Love:
Afternoon everybody, Here’s another review for you, this time it’s the Tofurky hickory smoke flavour turkey style slices. I had seen a lot of talk about this American brand online and needed something for a sandwich so when I saw this product in Holland & Barrett I had to try it. These were £2.85 for a 156g pack but I used my rewards for life voucher to get money off this price. I tried a few sandwich variations with the slices, plain with olive spread, with pate and cucumber, and with pate and spreadable Violife. I noticed that the slices were quite thin and as I tried to rip a bit off to try a bit I also noticed that the slices are a little difficult to tear. This difficulty remained when I wanted to take a bite out of the sandwich. Now this wasn’t much of an issue with me, I could still happily eat my sandwiches but if you are like me and get a bit nervous eating…

Happy Fry-Day!

With one blog post I am going to make your Friday go from Fri-Day to Fry-Yay! You heard it here first Perth-ites… Lord of the Fries is bringing it’s delicious fries with a side of burgers to the people of Perth! That’s right! After months of requests, the Lords will be opening the doors to their first West Coast store in late 2015. Although I can’t tell you the exact date or location just yet, I can tell you that it will be in the Perth CBD and by following simonemckenna.com you will be the first to hear all about the new store and  grand opening! If you’re not familiar with the Lords, the idea was born from late night snack excursions in 2004, where founders Mark and Mandy met while living in Taiwan. Their love of fries (and each other) drew them closer, while their conscience led them to look for alternate solutions to the chemical and beef tallow laden options on the market. They were seeking perfection in the form of golden and crunchy fries that used…

Product Review: The Lions Choice Protein and Superfood Bar

Originally posted on a health & fitness blog:
Now a days it seems like protein bars are being created just as poorly as candy bars.  High in sugars, fats, and carbs.  Don’t be fooled! Just because something is labeled as a “High Protein” Bar does not make it healthy.  Be mindful and read those ingredient lists and nutritional labels!  Hi everyone! I wanted to inform you of a new protein bar that I have stumbled across.  I feel compelled to search this company with you because I know those that are reading my blog are just as health-conscious as I am!   The company is called The Lions Choice and it has my support 100%.  The Lions Choice makes a variety of protein bars, nut butters, and even pancake mix, each infused with superfoods* and probiotics!  Today I will review the protein bars, saving the high-protein peanut butter and the pancake mix for later posts. 🙂  I found The Lions Choice on Instagram through social media members I follow– I was intrigued by the low calories, high protein,…

This is a simple, yet delicious and awesome high protein dessert.  You only need two ingredients:  a quest bar and Arctic Zero   see my previous post My Favorite Products to find out where to get these.  1. Warm up a quest bar of choice in microwave for 10-15 seconds on a microwave safe dish (just enough for it to be easy to work with and malleable)  Split the quest bar in half and roll two balls from the dough.   2.  Form the balls into flat cookies.  Here is a total of 2 quest bars–4 total cookies made.  Bake this in the oven at 350F  for 5-7 minutes.   Or you can Broil for 3-5 minutes.3. Top one cookie with a serving size of Arctic Zero Ice Cream 4. Put another  cookie on top and ENJOY!! Look at the macros: 245 calories with 23 g protein!!!  And it’s actually healthier than it appears here because of those 24 carbs in the questbar, 19 of them are FIBER!!! So…
