Top 7 Disney Park Tips!

Originally posted on Me, Myself and Everything Else:
I’ve been thinking about this post for what seems like forever now and am so excited to finally be sharing it! I’m sure I’ll be back with more because we all know I’ll post this and immediately think of another tip… Anyways! Let’s get real, Nick and I love Disney! We always have. We both loved it when we were younger and together, the love has just grown more! Disneyland was one of the first big trips Nick and I ever took together and then Disneyworld was the first really big trip we took together! We always have the best time and now we still pinch ourselves that we live so close! And no, we don’t get sick of it! If anything, it makes it better in my opinion because on days where its just so crazy and we don’t feel like waiting in line, we don’t have to! We can enjoy what we want and then go somewhere else! No stress of super long days! I’ve…

It’s OKAY to be a Tourist

Originally posted on Little Brantley Abroad:
My post today is all about being a tourist. I don’t know why but a lot of us see that word with negative connotations. We often picture dorky people with giant maps taking up the entire sidewalk, covered head to toe in I LOVE (insert popular city here) clothing and butchering the local language. Well, I am here to make you see the term tourist in not only a positive light, but as something we would aspire to be! Tourist: noun // A person who is traveling or visiting a place for pleasure. I’m not sure about you, but being a tourist sounds pretty damn nice to me. It means you are in a new place; you are out of your comfort zone and taking a daring adventure for the first time. There have been countless occasions, whilst on vacation, that I didn’t take a picture or feel comfortable filming just because I didn’t want to look like a tourist. There are so many amazing photos that would have been worth the…

What Photo-Manip Apps Do You Prefer?

Originally posted on The Blog of Christine B.:
Since I am a pretty novice internet-person, I have a question for all you more savvy types: What photo manipulation apps do you prefer? The only one I ever use is Instagram, and while that’s nice for posting on, well, Instagram, I’d like something a bit different for editing photos here. And yes, I could and have searched them up myself (I’m not being lazy, I swear! Procrastinating a bit, but not lazy!), but I’m asking for opinions here.  Features I’m looking for are ease of use (since I’m a noob), price (since I’m broke), and quality (since I’m fly like that). Mobile apps and browser apps are both totally fine. So throw some suggestions my way, pretty please? Pretty pretty please? Pretty please with puppies on top? And the puppies are only for decoration, not for eating, just to clear that up, but if you want they can be holding bags of jelly beans or chocolate chips or whatever you’re into these days. I won’t judge.

Windy City Sailing

You know how using a 35mm camera is a beautiful almost-lost art form these days? After sailing around Lake Michigan last Friday, it made me think that sailing is the 35mm of boat rides. Sailing, in its most primitive form, has been around since around 5000 BCE. It provided a wealth of food and closed large distances in a earth shrinking way. Now, it mainly serves as pastime. It’s so interesting how once revolutionary technologies transition into a cool hobby. I’ll tell you what though, it sure is beautiful to be out there in the water and feel the wind swell (especially with a beer in hand). Nothing like using a digital camera on the 35mm of boat rides. Take a look at my favorite Nike flip flops– great for summer things! Keep your eye on groupon deals for sailing charters in Chicago.

Zucchini in Oatmeal (and 3 Weeks Out From Stepping On Stage!)

I can’t believe that another week has gone by! Only three weeks shy of my first bikini competition.  Progress pictures above. Reflections of this past week are: 1. I have been slacking in the posing practice part– I haven’t been wearing my heels around the house to “get comfortable” walking in them either.  That may bite me in the booty later.  Goal for the next three weeks is to step up my game and practice, practice, practice! 2. Picking up from last week, I tried to stay around the 1,850 calorie/day diet.   I just felt tired.  I took a nap EVERY day.  By Thursday, it was time to work night shift, and I was a SNAIL.  I was moving so sluggishly and falling asleep charting at the computer at 10 pm — only 3 hours into my 12 hour shift.   I ended up eating a sticky cinnamon bun topped with candied pecans that was part of a baked good gift basket a patients’ family had brought in.…
