The Law’s of Attraction…

Originally posted on Weird and Wonderful:
“You attract what you put out. Be mindful.” All this mindfulness, is making me mindful. Love it. My friend just got back what she gave to me: I was being mindful. As I tried to give her the advice of having a separate account for business and that I would do the same. I felt I was going through a transitional phase. I felt as though the in between awkward times I had when she picked me up – made me think she was going through a tough time also: I was being mindful.? Wow! My moment was an emotional roller coaster but my word I don’t think it is my fault. I have always had to rely on other’s for help and they are getting fed up. Why? Because my family have never been ‘the bloods thicker than water‘ type; they have not made many sacrifices for me or had to try to resolve situations in my life. They just vocalise it. There sometimes has to be a…

Wake up, and Smell the Coffee

When I was in the USA, I lived in the midtown area of Atlanta…which was lovely! I was told this was the “gay area” by someone in hushed tones, but honestly I didn’t see the problem – all I saw were friendly strangers who liked to give compliments, and some great brunch establishments! How could anyone hate that?! Certainly always put a smile on my face! But anyway, this was a little far to travel for some friends who lived outside of the city, so I would hop on the MARTA train and meet them half-way at Bankhead Station…then we’d drive out to some random diner, restaurant, or coffee shop for a catch up on the latest shenanigans… One of these times stands out, and has been turning over, and over, and over in my head recently – I’m sure it won’t take a genius to work out why… On this occasion, four of us pulled into a quiet roadside place, and piled into one of the cushioned booths to get warm. A chirpy waiter…

How to (PRETEND TO) be a Normal Person

As you wade through the mysterious complexities of life, encountering such typical philosophical travails such as “why are we even here?”, “what is my calling?”, and “will I get caught if I burn my boss’ house down?” we can often feel alone…as if we are weird, and no one else is having these feelings on a daily basis. And the fact of the matter is – you are weird. You’re strange – odd…actually if I was to be completely honest you are probably Norman Bates level mental…but other people don’t have to know that! Here are a few top tips that I have gleaned over my tenure as a full-time sociopath, which are sure to help you fit in and walk among the muggles undetected: 1. Nod, and smile when people are talking (even if you don’t understand what is going on): You can throw in a few “ahhh I see”s for good measure – even though you don’t see anything at all. Just keep nodding, and smiling…nodding and smiling…people will tell other people you…

What’sa Motto With You?

For those of you who are cultured, you know that line is from Lion King. If not, perhaps you’re familiar with the phrase Hakuna Matata (what a wonderful phrase). Hakuna Matata ain’t no passing craze. It means no worries, for the rest of your days. It’s my problem free philosophy. Hakuna Matata. I’m not sorry. I had to do it! A lot has happened in the past month. There have been race issues, nude photos leaking (gender issues), and inappropriate rape tweets (sexual issues). I’m going to keep my response short and simple. Why do these things matter? Race, gender, sexuality. Honestly, they shouldn’t. By that I mean, these are all important things. Many people have branches of their identity that stem from some or all of them. However, my race, gender, sexuality, and so forth should NOT BE A PROBLEM. They are not harmful to anyone and therefore should not be a problem. Perhaps the terms I’m putting this in are too simple, however I’m failing to understand any logic that claims they have the right to …
