Things that make me happy Part 3 | Disney

I’ve been really struggling for ideas for lifestyle posts recently, but whilst watching some Disney World vlogs I had a sudden realisation I hadn’t posted about Disney at all really on my blog yet! I’m sure this is the same for most of you, but for me Disney really just symbolises my childhood and family memories in a nutshell. My brother and I were very lucky as my parents always took us to the cinema to watch the Disney films. They also took us on a few family holidays to Disney World in Florida, and Disneyland Paris – of which I have very fond memories. My brother and me, in Disney World back in good old days! In general Disney is one of those things that when I’m feeling sad or fed up, watching a Disney movie will always cheer me up. There’s nothing better than snuggling up to watch a Disney film in my onesie with a hot chocolate. I love the Disney classics but I’ve also learned to love…

Eun-ha (in writing) and Ji-sook (in person): One who dons a mask will ultimately be unhappy. Ji-sook (continuing): One cannot be happy living with someone she does not love while pretending to love him from behind a mask. Hence, I will live my life loving him—for real. – Mask Walt Disney director and writer Jennifer Lee, whose credits include award-winning animated features Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph, said that the first thing students learn in film school is character. The worst characters are thought to be perfect characters, who feel inauthentic. Characters second only to them are those full of self-doubt. The central character of Mask, unfortunately, was one or the other most of the time. She started off as a clumsy doormat wearing her heart on her sleeve while everyone else was donning masks, even though she was supposed to…

Five years later

I can’t believe it was five years ago today I went on my first date with this handsome, funny, sweet, charming, Disney loving man. I was only one month into my adventure on The Disney College Program, and he was there on the program as well – only difference being he’d been in Florida since May.? We spent the day exploring Epcot. It was only my third time in Epcot as a cast member and my second time backstage. All day long he made me laugh, pointed out hidden Mickey’s and shared his vast Disney knowledge.? I didn’t know it at the time, but I was falling head over heals for him. There was just something about him that made me instantly happier, comfortable and more at ease. It was a very natural feeling to go strolling around World Showcase hand-in-hand….I wondered how that could be when I’d only met him a week earlier! But like a moth to a flame, I was drawn in and never hesitated. My…

Disney World Tips | 5 Favorite Epcot Rides

Originally posted on White Walls + Wanderlust:
As you may or may not know, I have a slight (major) obsession with Disney World. It’s one of my favorite places to visit. Definitely in my top three, for sure. Any time I have a say in where we go for a family vacation, it typically includes a Disney park. For a while now I’ve been wanting to start a blog series where I talk about my favorite and least favorite rides, best places to eat, and more Disney World tips. To start out, here’s a post with a countdown of my opinion on the five best rides at Epcot. Not intentionally, all of my favorite rides are located in Future World which is the first half of the park before you get to the World Showcase. 5! The Sum Of All Thrills This ride is one that for whatever reason, I never hear anything about. It’s in the Innoventions building at Epcot which I guess not many people go in. Or maybe everyone knows about it and I’m just living under a rock. This ride allows you to design…

A Whole New World by Liz Braswell

Published by Disney-Hyperion on September 1, 2015 Genres: [Young Adult] Fantasy Pages: 384 Format: eARC Source: Netgalley Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Books a Million 1.5 Stars, Completed August 30, 2015 – SPOILERS ahead – A Whole New World is an Aladdin retelling where the events are slightly distorted from the original Disney film. Instead of Aladdin meeting the genie first and having to struggle with facing the truth and his identity, before Aladdin even catches on that the tales of djinns and genies are real, the grand vizier, Jafar, possesses the lamp and transforms Agrabah into an apocalyptic setting by using dark magic. After reading, it got me thinking that beloved Disney films though they have their own merits (good morals, beautiful illustrations, funny moments, and encouragement of imaginations to name a few) still are full of instalove romances, love triangles, development of somewhat bland characters, and other unwanted characteristics most readers probably don’t enjoy reading usually. However, for a movie, that’s okay. I can completely sympathize that there’s so much you can squish into a 2 hour movie; these…

‘Big Hero 6’ series to Share Similar Plotline as ‘Captain America’ Series? Warning: Spoilers!

Originally posted on Ice the Burn:
If you haven’t heard already, there are plans to make a sequel to the comic-inspired animated film Big Hero 6, currently known as Big Hero 7 (naturally the number should increase with every sequel to come just like Ocean’s Eleven). Additionally, there’s been rumors about Tadashi being ALIVE! Yeah, Tadashi, the older brother of Hiro, the perfect role model and creator of Baymax, who supposedly died in a fire during a technology convention in the first film. Not only is he alive, but he’s rumored to be the VILLAIN of the next film, becoming the character Sunfire (who supposedly is an X-Men cross-over?!?). And of course other rumors are spreading, leading to other rumors based on rumors. But the point of this post is this: it sounds very similar to the Captain America films, and as someone who hasn’t been invested in the comics I am only capable of breaking down plot points and noting that somewhere in Marvel Studios and the Comic universe is one of potentially several…

Insecurity: A Daunting Companion

Originally posted on A Sunny Place To Think:
I am secretly insecure. About a lot of things. Sure, I’m the chipper, go-to gal amongst all of my friends and family, too. I’m always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it be running your errands for you, to babysitting your kid, to helping out with homework or housework or yardwork. Optimism is my middle name, mostly. I always have a ready smile and I always have something to laugh about. But deep down, WAY deep down the darkness known as fear weaves me in a tighter web. I think this is the source my anxiety feeds on. This internal fear that I hide away so well from so many people that they don’t even know I have this problem until someone I’m close to (like my mother, for instance) tells them. What am I insecure about? Many things. I’ve touched on them briefly in previous posts. Like how I’m 25, have only ever had one “serious” relationship (which only lasted 6 months), fear that I’ll never find “the…

When Fairytales Don’t Come True

I’m still trying to remember the time when I finally realized that my Disney princess ideas of relationships and marriage were never true. It was probably during middle school when I fell in love with my first boyfriend for one whole week or probably somewhere between the two page love letter that I wrote him right before he moved away without saying a word. I learned some really hard lessons back then. One being, never kiss a guy after P.E. Now, I know the phrase physical education may seem to have some sexual innuendo, but it mostly meant a hot mess. I mean, there I was with my best Cinderella before 11:59 p.m. impression. And although we had to wear that tacky blue gym outfit every other day, today, I was fairy-godmother-ready with my high ponytail, my sparkling white Nikes, and my lip gloss-game so right that even Lil Mama would be jealous. My prince, on the other hand, or maybe I should say my frog, was trying to prove that he would be the next …
