Tofurky hickory smoke flavour turkey style slices

Afternoon everybody, Here’s another review for you, this time it’s the Tofurky hickory smoke flavour turkey style slices. I had seen a lot of talk about this American brand online and needed something for a sandwich so when I saw this product in Holland & Barrett I had to try it. These were £2.85 for a 156g pack but I used my rewards for life voucher to get money off this price. I tried a few sandwich variations with the slices, plain with olive spread, with pate and cucumber, and with pate and spreadable Violife. I noticed that the slices were quite thin and as I tried to rip a bit off to try a bit I also noticed that the slices are a little difficult to tear. This difficulty remained when I wanted to take a bite out of the sandwich. Now this wasn’t much of an issue with me, I could still happily eat my sandwiches but if you are like me and get a bit nervous eating…

My Obsession Monday: Coconut Bake

Warning: I’m about to brag a little about my husband. 😉 My man is pretty hot and he’s been working his butt off weight training all summer. He definitely motivates me to keep going. Gains, yo! Because he’s working on building muscle, he eats a lot of protein and because he loves me, he gets up most mornings and makes us breakfast. I am sooooo lucky! However, there are days when he wants to sleep in or I have extra bananas I need to use so I have an easy breakfast alternative to our usual eggs and bacon (at least for me – he’s allergic to coconut – yes, his life is a little bit darker because of it). Drumroll please. *drumroll* Coconut Flour Breakfast Bake! Photo credit: Evan at thewannabechef.net I found this recipe on Pinterest, of course. It is super easy to make, very quick, nutritious (low carb, gluten free, AND dairy free), and tastes a little like banana cake. FOR BREAKFAST! Seriously, it takes about 5 minutes…

( I was at a gathering) it is really great that so many people are so concerned about my protein intake, but sadly I know they’re not asking me the question out of concern but they are pretty much trying to tell me that I am Unhealthy!!! now… I am not Blaming people for asking this question… since well… once upon of time I thought that Meat was the only source of real protein as well 😉 I wonder where I got that idea from.. When I did answer with my prepared list of Nutritional veggies and Grains that contain protein, I got a follow up comment about…

Easiest Vegan Burger Recipe

My second ever attempt at constructing a burger recipe from scratch and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I can hands-down say this is the best burger – veggie and non-veggie included – I have ever eaten. And yes, that is my ego you see radiating out from your screen. If you’d prefer a crunchier burger feel free to fry these patties, once shaped. I instead baked them on a baking sheet for about 30 minutes, flipping once. This gave them a lovely crispiy texture and obviously is the healthier option.  If you find that your patties are more than a little fragile I’d suggest baking as this will keep them together most effectively. My burgers stayed together beautifully for a vegan recipe! Because I didn’t have a food processor the sweet corn was not combined as well as I’d have liked and so some of them came loose once baked. Therefore a food processor would help significantly! If I were to recreate this recipe again (which I undoubtedly…
