Accessory Obsession

Originally posted on Chique Duluxe:
Hi loves,  So, I haven’t kept up with the blog as much as I’d like to, as most of you know the boif came home from his trip in Africa to come home and celebrate my birthday (which was ever so sweet of him) so I’ve basically been living under a rock since he got home! So much has been happening! I was recently signed to an agency (FINALLY) so my schedule has been jam packed! I feel like I have so much stuff to blog about I don’t even know where to start! I’ve been wanting to do an accessories blog for quite some time, and wanted to share my favorite outfit essentials..so without further adieu! BAG  I’ve been semi obsessed with collecting purses, especially little cross body bags like the one featured. This was an UNBELIEVABLE find! I found it online on a website called Shein.com and the price? only $20. I mean really, this is a freaking steal! This makes for a perfect night-out-bag, because the size is just…

What we can learn from Kate Middleton and Amal Clooney

There is no sense in denying it; everyone is a little obsessed with Kate Middleton and Amal Clooney. Whether you love them for their sense of style, their public image or the fact that they give you major #relationshipgoals, you can’t deny that you don’t just love them a little bit. I know that I have not hidden my admiration for both women. I feel that they are both good role models, as well as stylish. I feel that we can learn a lot from these two women, if we sit down and think of the ways in which they make our world a beautiful place – both literally and figuratively. Dress classy and simple When looking at Kate and Amal, there are similarities in their style. Both women dress very simple, yet incredibly elegant. Both woman opt for timeless looks and pieces, hence why they are highly regarded in the fashion world. Their styles are not frou-frou at all, yet they are not boring or easy to forget. They make…

Berlin Fashion Week Features Pieces Made for and Modeled by Dwarfs

(Image © Valerie Diedenhofen used with permission) ? It’s been a good week in the media for dwarfs. Not only did Peter Dinklage’s Emmy win allow for him to speak out once again against bullying, but Fashion Week just ended in the city I call home and I couldn’t help but squeal a little “OMG!” at seeing history being made. With her collection “At Eye Level,” Berlin-based designer Sema Gedik presented clothes made for and modeled by Laura Christ, Mick Mehnert, Eva Ehrmann and others with dwarfism. Gedik was inspired to do so after observing the difficulty of finding clothes that fit—not to mention stylish ones—faced by her cousin Funda, who has achondroplasia. That the fashion industry has never seemed interested in offering dwarfs clothing made for their bodies imbued Gedik with “an intense feeling of injustice.” She tells Berlin’s Tageszeitung, “Fashion should not be restricted by social conventions.” But those restrictions are there, which is why she reports being surprised that she even managed to get the project…

Here’s my Autumn outfit of the day. I was inspired by this lovely new sweater you can see underneath. Plus, you can never go wrong with a good black jacket. I think leather jackets especially, are one of those clothing items that will never go out of style. What I’m wearing: SCHUTZ over the knee boots MANGO bag ZARA  jacket GAS JEANS chunky sweater STUSSY dress FOSSIL eye glasses Unfortunately none of the items shown in the photos are available anymore. I usually buy my clothes on sale or in outlet stores (especially the more expensive items), but hopefully this outfit could serve as an inspiration for some of you. What are your favourite fashion items for Fall? Feel free to share your thoughts with me in the comment section bellow. 🙂

NYFW Recap #4 of 4 – Raquel Allegra SS16 Presentation

The last show of the week that I was able to go to was the Raquel Allegra SS16 Presentation. This presentation was located at the Industria Superstudios again, but this time in a more spacious studio. Although it was Raquel Allegra‘s first NYFW show, she presented with the quality of a seasoned-designer. Her pieces for SS16 carried a vintage theme with splashes of tie-dye prints. Almost every outfit composed of deconstructed layers and fabrics of silk and linen. The models were circled around an original-designed mandala by Briana Sophia Young, which centered the studio, and the colors of the mandala blended perfectly with the SS16 line. The bright tie-dye hues made the room feel alive and added energy to the crowd. Of attendance was actress Marisa Tomei. I was able to snap a picture of her with the star of the show, designer Raquel Allegra. Below are some pictures of the presentation! Click an image to see images in a slideshow. That wraps up my NYFW recap series! I look forward to next year’s NYFW…
