25 Goals for Turning 25: First Quarter Update

Originally posted on The 9 to 5 Wanderer:
Things have been quiet on The 9 to 5 Wanderer lately…I’m afraid the last month has been A LOT of 9 to 5 and a little wandering. A massive work project that dragged on for about a month and a half finally wrapped up today, and now I have a bit of room to breath, aka write. Between work absolutely slamming me on a daily basis and French class proving to be the hardest (but also most fulfilling) semester yet, I haven’t had much energy, or time, for anything else. I’ve been meaning to write an update on my 25 Goals for Turning 25 for many weeks now. Since The 9 to 5 Wanderer is about travel and work, I thought it would be only appropriate to do a quarterly progress check-in to see how I’m doing with achieving my 25 for 25 goals. My office’s fiscal year starts in July, so here’s my first quarter roundup. I don’t think I did too badly! *pats self on the back* 1. Really…

Spa day in the city

I am definitely a city gal I jump at the opportunity to got into the city, that being any city. I love the fast moving pace and the whole atmosphere so for my boyfriends birthday I got him a VIP spa day as I feel like it is so nice to get away from every day life and just relax. I found the most amazing spa day in the centre of London and it was so lovely to just spend the day together and leave all the stress of real life behind. The spa day was in a hotel called The Atheneum which overlooks St James Park. The hotel was stunning from the outside as the whole side corner of the building was covered in flowers and greenery which was amazing and  really made the hotel blend in with the park. We got the train to London Victoria so it was a short but sweet walk past Buckingham Palace and through the park to the hotel. Once inside we…

It’s A Party, It’s A Party, It’s A Party!

Hi loves! Today is my birthday!! I’m finally 23 and I cannot believe time is going by so quickly! The fact that it’s already time for another birthday is blowing my mind. It’s also making me reflect on this past year of being 22 and how much I’ve grown. This entire year has created major growth in my life both personally and professionally. I have done a lot more soul searching and have become completely confident in the person that I am. I know that is something that many twenty-somethings struggle with. I have found my confidence, spirituality, career goals, and life goals. I am no longer that young girl trying to find my way, and that feels liberating.?I wanted to share somewhat of a “highlight reel” of the past year to celebrate new and even better things to come with being 23! Landed my first ever publication is a magazine! I had my work published in the print and digital edition of Nail Pro Magazine and Nails Magazine…

As the smoke clears on an amazing birthday weekend (thanks to my fiancé), I took the time reflect on what this 29th year of life will be. What I want out of it and what I plan to put into it. My list is ever-changing, but I wanted to put some of these things into the atmosphere to get the ball rolling. 29.1 Pass my road test (get my driver’s license) While I revel in the fact that people respond to this knowledge with “No license? You’re such a New Yorker”…I’m an adult and I need to drive. I have to reclaim that tiny bit of lost independent from being on someone else’s schedule or stuck in place because “my ride” isn’t ready. I will practice my parallel parking and pass my road test. 29.2 Find and commit to a weight loss regime I’ll spare you the sob story (because there isn’t one). I used to be smaller and I want to be smaller again. Plus, I’m getting married next year…
