It is a weakness” Review by Eddie on 27/07/2016 For a series that was rebooted in such promising fashion with the J.J Abrams directed 2009 film, the freshly polished Star Trek franchise is slowly dying a sad death on the back of Abram’s lacking 2013 sequel Into Darkness and thanks to Justin Lin’s newest addition simply titled Beyond, this wannabe Star Wars competitor needs a mighty warp speed boost with the already announced 4th film to stay relevant and appealing to audiences who won’t likely be…

The End of Superhero Movies?

Originally posted on The Sunflower Cafe:
I’ve heard people jokingly (and not so jokingly) ask if the end of superhero movies is near. The thing is, superhero movies have become their own genre so to ask for an end would be like asking for the end of romantic comedies, horror movies, or spy thrillers. Also, superhero movies aren’t anything new. They’ve existed long before the Avengers hit screens, and they’ll be around long after. I have no complaints about a new movie or two being released each year, but I can understand the exhaustion people are having. We don’t need an end though. We need variety. One of the issues is that every recent superhero movie is linked together and all done through the same company. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe is impressive, it doesn’t allow much separation because there are movies for each of the main Avengers leading in to the Avenger trilogy. Viewers are stuck in the same universe over and over again even though they’re able to see different stories taking place…

Why Did I Ever Stop Playing Video Games?

Originally posted on Coolbeans4:
I used to be a pretty avid gamer. Honestly, Nintendo was my childhood. But around the same time I started watching too much TV, I stopped playing video games. Yes, a few times in the last year I’ve plugged in the old Nintendo 64 so I could play Kirby Crystal Shards, but that was more out of boredom than interest. Recently, I decided that I may be experiencing a slight quarter life crisis, and that I really missed being young. But not enough to do anything about it. Until I did. Two weekends ago at a garage sale, some rando was selling a copy of Pokémon White for $2. Yes, TWO DOLLARS. Though my Nintendo DS was in some forgotten box in the basement, and I hadn’t played a DS game in years, I wanted it. I couldn’t pass up that deal! So I bought it. And as soon as I got home,  I dug out my DS, popped in the game and started playing. I think I logged 10 hours that day. When my brother came into the room and saw me,…

Hey World, You’ve Been Gilmored: Tips for Binge-Watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix

*Starting today, July 1st, the rest of the world will be able to experience what us Americans have been able to enjoy for the past two years – the entirety of Gilmore Girls on Netflix Instant. Obviously this is a smart move for Netflix ahead of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life premiering later this year, but now I feel like the show’s going to have an even larger global fan base than ever before. So if you happen to be watching the show for the first time this weekend, international readers, here’s a handy guide to making it through the entire series. I made this in 2014 when GG first hit Netflix in America, so I’ve made a few updates throughout. Copperboom!* It’s happening you guys. IT’S ALL HAPPENING. Sorry I yelled at you. Let’s make up. I’m just super excited for the recent news coming out of Netflix HQ: All seven seasons of Gilmore Girls are coming to Netflix Instant. That’s right – 153 episodes, about 6,732…

I Have Trouble Staying in the Lines: 90’s Coloring Book for Adults

Originally posted on The Nostalgia Blog:
Hey guys, my birthday is coming up and you know what I want? World Peace. Just kidding! That will never happen. What I really want is this Color The 90s adult coloring book by Outrageous Katie. It says ‘Adult’, so don’t let anyone give you any shit about being in your 20s, 30s or 40s and coloring in a coloring book (50 years olds can suck it, your were in your 20s when this stuff was relevant). For those interested in this little piece of Nostalgic awesomeness, you can buy it on Amazon! That place has everything! Except my fathers love….Anywho! Check out the link here as well as a few pictures below to get a taste of what the book offers and to plan out your coloring adventure! I myself am going to color Tim Allen blue because I’d never seen a blue Tim Allen before and quite frankly, I want to see one.

He Said That he liked me as a friend – 22nd & 23rd October 1998

Thursday 22ndI was in a really miserable mood this morning. I think I was tired after being on a high last night but I just felt really down. Ed’s party doesn’t help. It’s going ahead on Saturday night and Ed only asked me coz Emma made him. That didn’t make me feel too good, I can tell you. Reuben Leigh (he left our primary school and I used to really like him) is going and Emma says Ewan is. I know what I’m like though. I always get my hopes up but then get disappointed and Emma always throws herself at people who she likes so I probably won’t have any chance. Either that or they won’t be there. I don’t even know if I’m going yet. Freda is having a sleepover tomorrow night. Hopefully that’ll be good but if I do go on Saturday I’ll probably be knackered! BYE! Saturday 21st Freda’s sleepover went okay last night. Nothing really interesting happened but she got a photo of…

Evan Spiegel & Bobby Murphy | Snapchat Co-founders

They accepted the challenge and prevailed with Snapchat.

Drama Kings and Queens

Growing up, I never had the opportunity to watch many television series, despite some of them winning a number of Golden Globes and Emmy awards. I had a curfew to adhere to when I was growing up. Completion of school work and assignments at a certain time, helping out with household chores at a particular time, and watching television at an even more limited time! I used to have only an hour’s worth of TV time when I was growing up! My extended TV time came when technology became more advanced and everything became more accessible. Now, everything you want and/or need is really at your fingertips with a few taps on the keyboard and a few clicks on the mouse. One day, I found the solution to my troubles.

I Don’t Know What’s So Special About Emma – 31st August & 1st September 1998

Originally posted on If Destroyed Still True:
Monday 31stI went to town today with Emma. At the bus stop here, Emma was telling me that Freddie turned up at her house this morning and the truth came out about him and Martha. He did do it with her. He said that they were just kissing and they fell on the couch. I’m really annoyed about that coz he’d been saying all night about how he wanted to get back with Emma etc. She was also telling me that she and Suzanna rang Charlie Wilson yesterday and he was going on about some girl. Now she’s decided she doesn’t like anyone. I asked her who was a possibility and she said Ferny. Oh great, cheers Emma. She said she doesn’t actually like him now but she might sometime. I’ll have to try and put her off him somehow. We got to town and eventually found Suzanna. We went back to her house and didn’t really do much. We’d been trying to get through to Connor but…
