Minimal Millennial | Emily Torres

My name is Emily and I’m determined to live life to the fullest – but without all the stuff. Through paring down my belongings and cutting frivolous shopping, I am making my life more intentional. I started my minimalist journey a few years ago when I realized my possessions were (literally) weighing me down and holding me back from going places I wanted to go. I was born and raised in Indiana, but now I’ve started a new life in Los Angeles with my husband and two rabbits. I love (and write about) simple living, healthy food and spreading joy.

The Millennial Pastor | Reverend Erik Parker

I am a Lutheran Pastor and among the oldest of Millennials, having been born in 1982. I have been using the internet my whole adult life, yet some of the people I serve to grew up traveling to church in a horse and buggy, or worked office jobs on typewriters, or remember TV being a new thing. Our generational differences make life interesting and we struggle together to be the ‘church’ in this new world.

Liebster Award

We were nominated for the Liebster Award by the wonderful Erika who runs, one of my favorite blogs, The Farm on the Hill. The Liebster Award is an award for bloggers by bloggers. The goal of the award is to encourage more connection and support within the writing community, as well as assist in discovering up and coming bloggers. The award focuses on bloggers with less than 200 followers. Though we don’t quite qualify in that regard, we’re happy to participate. When someone nominates you for the Liebster Award they ask you a series of questions. Here are the questions submitted by Erika. What originally got you blogging? Like many of my peers, I realized that adulthood didn’t come with a manual. As I wanted to share what I was learning as I learned daily lessons; thus the blog was born. What do you most enjoy about blogging? I love when bloggers comment and interact. I know we all have busy days, but it’s nice when someone takes the time to share their opinion or experiences. …

How I’m Coping with Blogging Burnout.

Originally posted on Ordinary Adventures:
I keep feeling like Ordinary Adventures has been one big stutter for the past few weeks. I keep hesitating with my ideas, my blog posts aren’t as crisp, I skipped a day, and a lot of it has been me sharing some personal struggles. I’ve felt like there is a scratch on the turn table and I keep rewinding to my previous step. I know?I’m still ahead of the game in some areas, but that’s only because of how far I’ve pushed myself. And I’ve loved every minute, so I don’t want to stop now!?Although, I’m not going to be too hard on myself, my life has taken a complete 160 since summer ended, but I long to keep moving forward with my blogging journey. My life has become a whirlwind, I have a whole new schedule, I keep dreaming of lofty goals, but nothing is coming out of my keyboard. I’m tired, honestly. I’ve changed my sleep schedule, my work hours have changed, I’m more exhausted then ever before,…

A Pinoy Millennial | Kai Cañizares

I don’t speak for all millennials or all Filipinos. I’m just pretty sure I’m both. A Pinoy Millennial The geeky musings of a 21st century Filipino Life, Work, Arts & Entertainment (TV/Film), Politics, Fandoms, Humor My blog is pretty general and straightforward: It’s my bucket of thoughts. Whether it’s anime reviews, card games, video games, the stupidity that forever tries to tax me and run my country… they’re all from my experience as an out-and-out Filipino millennial. I was born in the late 80s, grew up through the 90s… and became pretty much living proof that you don’t have to be Japanese-American to have both anime and Disney movies in your childhood. FACTS ABOUT KAI CAÑIZARES Where is your favorite place to go on a weekday afternoon when you have no plans? Starbucks. I know, typical right? (Would it be less typical if I threw Krispy Kreme in there?) What was the last book you read without skipping any pages? A Dance with Dragons by G.R.R. Martin Where’s your favorite place to blog? My head. Check …

Retail Therapy & Saturday Shopping Treats

Originally posted on NEW BLOG
After the sad news on Thursday, I needed some retail therapy to cheer myself up. Today my mum and step dad came to visit me in Sheffield, as my step dad hadn’t seen my new flat. If you’ve read my blog before/know me, you will be aware of my Yankee Candle obsession. My purchases probably won’t be a surprise to you, if that’s the case. I spotted these two cute Yankee Candle votive holders, which will go perfectly on my TV stand. I do own a lot of candle holders if I’m honest, but oh well. I love them. Although I’ve bought the votive versions of Wild Sea Grass and Beach Holiday, I decided to buy other sized versions ready for the future reviews I have planned. On first impressions, they both smell awesome. I noticed when my parents arrived at my flat that they’d made a cup of tea but I had no coasters for anyone to put their mugs down on. I spotted these brilliant mug coasters…
