Dating Documented | Madeline & Coraline

Madeline and I have actually been friends since the first grade. We went to school together most of our lives. We decided that this blog would be a fun experience to start the conversation about the dating world and what comes along with it, in addition to being able to commiserate with someone we love about the horrendous kissers and awkward gentlemen that we have encountered.

Coraline

I am a twenty-three year old woman trying to figure out who I am. I want readers to be able to relate and feel comfortable having conversations about dating and sex. Madeline and I are immersing ourselves in the dating scene to continue to find what we want and feel more comfortable dating.

unnamed (12)I’m a twenty three year old woman pretending that I have my life figured out. After getting out of a tumultuous and what in hindsight was a terribly unhealthy relationship, I decided it was time for me to get out there and date. I hadn’t dated at all in high school or in college so I was starting from square one. I made my okcupid profile and threw myself into it, with the love and support of Coraline. We are both figuring out how to navigate through the messy world of dating, and trying to become versed in the language of men. We are learning our must haves and cant stands and being constantly reminded that just because you think you have “a type” that doesn’t mean anything.

Disastrous dates, awesome advice, and stupendous stories

Relationships (Sex & Dating)

Right now the blog is in the beginning stages, but we know we definitely want to see our blog develop and grow. With that we hope to have a wide range of viewers, engaging dialogue and thoughts. Everyone goes through various phases of dating. Some dates are fun, some are terrible and some are just strange and indescribable. We hope we can start making dating and sex a more talked about subject; something we do not have to be ashamed nor secretive about! I mean come on, dating is so much fun! We would like to have our readers engage with us more. Send us questions or tell us about their own experiences.

FACTS ABOUT MADELINE
What was the last book you read without skipping any pages?
I am an English major and avid reader so there isn’t many times that I skip pages in books. The last book that I read and absolutely adored was “A Farewell To Arms”. Hemingway was such a badass. It’s funny because in the context of this blog I know that because he was a tortured genius I would totally go for the Hemingway type but that is such a bad Idea. SUCH A BAD IDEA. In addition to being a total badass, he was also just an ass sometimes.

What trajectory are you hoping to push yourself onto? Where do you want to head?
Long term I would like to be an English professor. I am starting my MFA in creative writing soon and would love to move to NYC to write and experience life in such a vibrant and beautiful city.

If you could have personally witnessed anything, what would you want to have seen?
I am totally obsessed with Toni Morrison, and would give just about anything to see her receive her nobel prize for literature. The speech she gave at that time was just astounding.

FACTS ABOUT CORALINE
What is the most random thing you’ve ever watched all the way through on Netflix?
I watch a lot of random movies and shows on Netflix.. It is kind of lame how easy I get hooked in on weird Netflix films/ shows. Star Crossed is probably the most recent random thing I watched. It’s this show about an alien boy and human girl falling in love but not being able to love each other because of their differences. It sounds so cheesy and silly but that show was GOOD.. Haha.-Coraline

Where is your favorite place to go on a weekday afternoon when you have no plans?
I love going to the park or any open area. I absolutely love sitting or laying down outside and staring at the sky. It is so complex and beautiful and it takes me away from the chaos that surrounds us each day.

What’s your most bizarre talent?
My most bizarre talent is parallel parking. I also consider this talent one of my best characteristics! I love to parallel park.. And if I get a chance to show off this sweet skill to a hot dude, I do haha.
